Listening Sessions

The Mission Study Group is following up on the very successful Mission survey participation with a first round of listening sessions in August. These sessions are intended to give the congregation an opportunity to discuss in small groups their hopes and concerns that may not have been fully captured by the survey. It’s an opportunity for all participants to share the nuances of their mission view and their perspective on the future for this congregation. 

The dates for the listening sessions are listed below and anyone can go to any of the listening sessions. The group size will be 6 people and no more than 8 people. We ask that you sign up for your two most preferred dates by contacting Robbin Kelley (robbinkelley@gmail.com). Robbin will be tracking the session signups and will inform you by email which session you have been assigned to. 

Duane Bidwell will be facilitating all the listening sessions and a member of our Mission Study Group will scribe for each session. The Mission Study group will then aggregate this information along with the survey data, and good deal of prayer, and begin to develop and articulate what our congregation sees as its mission and vision for the future. August 16th: 4 – 6PM at Robbin’s house in Claremont 

August 18th: 6:30 – 8:30PM through a Zoom call 

August 24th: 11:30 – 1:30 at church meeting with light lunch. 

August 27th: 3 – 5PM at Pilgrim Place, Pitzer Lodge Assisted Living. 

By forming a Mission and Vision statement that focuses our energies and accurately reflects the desires and hopes of our congregation we ensure that God’s word through Jesus Christ continues to be shared throughout the communities we live in.
